Past eventsSome Secret Place has been facilitating pagan rituals, meditations and group discussions every month since August 2007. At times when interest in the group has been particularly large we've run the group twice a month to make sure the experience was always intimate enough that everyone present could participate. We've only just started to keep details of each event, which will be listed here. Also, there are tentative plans to create texts for solitary (or small group) versions of our evenings for people who couldn't make it but would like to perform the work themselves. If that's something you'd like to see happen, please email Peter. February, 2012 Candlemass or Imbolc: a festival of light--a celebration of lactation (certainly the latter is prevalent in our household at the moment)! Come and connect with your inner child, to bring forth the energy of a renewed sun. January, 2012 Having just celebrated midwinter, when the sun begins to once again strengthen from a flicker to a flame, and the child of promise is reborn, we now turn to the coming year.
December, 2011 The festival of Saturnalia is an ancient Roman celebration held in honour of Saturn, youngest of the Titans and father of Jupiter.
November, 2011 This time of year is steeped in myth and lore regarding the "veil", the boundary between the realms of the living and the dead, being at its most thin.
October, 2011 As we enter the dark half of the year, SSP invites you to enter your own dark half. Known also as the shadow self; the dark side, the subconscious and intuitive self. A place that is more accessible at this liminal time of year.
September, 2011 This month we're looking at polarity, but not in the traditional gender sense. There is polarity within everything, and we'll be looking at it within elements, and of course ourselves. August, 2011 Storing energy and power for when we need it most. |
